Joey Nichols - Pastor

Joey was born and raised on the gulf coast of Florida but has lived in Northern Colorado since 1997. He was blessed to be raised by Christian parents who, though imperfect, took their walk with Christ seriously and led him to give his own life to Jesus during his grade school years. His time studying at Capernwray Bible School in England introduced him to the global reach of the Gospel and to the realization of the indwelling presence of Christ in every believer. After Capernwray, Joey completed his BA at Biola University in California. The goal of a career in counseling led him to go on to earn a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at Wheaton College. Between time in Florida and Colorado, Joey has worked as a family therapist and a hospice counselor for twenty years. He has volunteered in a number of areas of the local church, including working with the high school ministry and teaching adult classes. His desire to disciple young adults led him to serve on the board of Covenant Bible College for a number of years. Joey came to The Crossing in the Summer of 2010 and considers it a privilege to serve the congregation here. In addition to teaching and mentoring, Joey enjoys hiking, finding out-of-the-way coffee shops, and following the Colorado Rockies baseball club.

Deacons

We believe that God’s design for the local church is for the appointed elders (pastors) to lead by serving and carrying out the mission of the church. The elders primary focus should thus be to shepherd, lead, teach, and equip while the deacons support the elders by taking on the needed responsibility to care for a variety of practical needs within the church. While every deacon is a servant, not all servants are deacons. Therefore, the following deacons have been appointed by the elders and affirmed by the church body:
Mackenzi Grauberger - Crossing Kids!
Albert Chen - Finance
Joel Sauder - Facilities
